Is Your Grant Application Too Safe?
Trying to be diplomatic can sometimes be a great way to get forgotten.
If you’re writing a grant application that tries to explain a problem and solution without being too assertive, there’s a good chance you’re being too safe.
And here’s the hard truth about being too safe: you won’t say anything meaningful.
Safe writing looks like this:
Generic outcomes with no clear impact or tangibility
Buzzwords instead of real detail
Hedging your bets: “we hope to...” or “we aim to possibly...”
The result? An application that doesn’t stand out.
